L’Associazione Luca Coscioni e il Suo Impegno per le Terapie Psichedeliche
Nel 2017 l’Associazione Luca Coscioni ha avviato una serie di iniziative per promuovere la condivisione dei risultati delle ricerche e delle esperienze terapeutiche riguardanti l’uso degli psichedelici in corso in vari paesi. Se utilizzate in percorsi di psicoterapia, queste molecole hanno dimostrato efficacia e sicurezza nel trattamento di stress post-traumatico, dipendenze da sostanze psicoattive, la depressione e nelle cure palliative.
Eventi e Conferenze Significative
A partire dalla conferenza al Campus Einaudi di Torino del 2017 l’Associazione ha organizzato numerosi incontri, tra cui:
- La riunione del Congresso mondiale per la libertà di ricerca scientifica al Parlamento Europeo di Bruxelles nel 2018.
- Sessioni nei congressi annuali.
- Webinar e presentazioni di pubblicazioni, curate dall’Associazione stessa, che includono interventi e testimonianze di collaboratori.
Mozione del XX Congresso
La mozione del XX Congresso del 2023 ha confermato l’impegno dell’Associazione dando mandato agli organi gli organi dirigenti di promuovere iniziative su cannabis e psichedelici, sostenendo le Iniziative delle Cittadine e Cittadini europei sulla Cannabis e sugli Psichedelici e incoraggiando studi e sperimentazioni cliniche su altre piante, molecole e composti psichedelici altrimenti proibiti.
Diritto alla Scienza
Le attività dell’Associazione sono a favore del pieno rispetto del diritto alla salute e si basano sul diritto alla scienza, come descritto nell’articolo 15 del Patto sui diritti economici, sociali e culturali, che obbliga gli stati a garantire la libertà di ricerca, la condivisione dei benefici del progresso scientifico e le sue applicazioni.
Podcast
Nel 2020, l’Associazione ha lanciato il podcast Illuminismo Psichedelico, curato da Federico Di Vita, che esplora il tema degli psichedelici attraverso interventi culturali, scientifici, legali, artistici e letterari.
Iniziative Future: PsychedeliCare
L’Associazione è tre le promotrici di PsychedeliCare, una iniziativa civica europea sugli psichedelici che chiede, tra le altre, cose una linea di bilancio dedicata alla ricerca per fini medici.
Documento Tecnico
L’Associazione ha preparato il documento tecnico Le Terapie Psichedeliche nel Fine Vita, curato dall’avvocata Claudia Moretti, che analizza le leggi rilevanti per avviare un confronto con il Ministro Schillaci. Per questo l’Associazione raccoglie adesioni su un documento che chiede attenzione istituzionale per le terapie psichedeliche già sicure ed efficaci che sono offerti in paesi come Canada, USA, Regno Unito, Svizzera, Israele, Australia e Repubblica Ceca. Oltre a suscitare l’attenzione scientifica l’obiettivo è anche coinvolgere il Ministro della Difesa Guido Crosetto nella ricerca di nuove terapie per i veterani affetti da disturbi da stress post-traumatico.

The Luca Coscioni Association and its commitment to Psychedelic Therapies
In 2017, the Luca Coscioni Association launched a series of initiatives to promote the sharing of psychedelic research and related therapeutic experiences in various countries. When and if used in accompanying psychotherapy sessions, these molecules have demonstrated effectiveness and safety in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions to psychoactive substances, depression and in palliative care.
Significant Events and Conferences
Starting from the conference at the Einaudi Campus in Turin in September 2017, the Association has organized numerous meetings, including: The 5th meeting of the World Congress for Freedom of Scientific Research at the European Parliament in Brussels in 2018.
Sessions at its General Assemblies.
Webinars and presentations of publications, edited by the Association itself, which include original essays, conference presentations and personal testimonies from collaborators.
Motion of the XX Congress
The outcome document of the 2023 XX Congress (mozione generale) confirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting activities concerning psychedelics by mandating the governing bodies to promote initiatives on cannabis and psychedelics, supporting the Initiatives of European Citizens on Cannabis and Psychedelics and encouraging studies and clinical trials on other otherwise prohibited plants, molecules and psychedelic compounds.
The Right to Science
The Association’s activities promote the full enjoyment of the right to health and are based on the affirmation on the right to science, as described in article 15 of the Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which obliges states to guarantee freedom of research, as well as the sharing the benefits of scientific progress and its applications.
Podcasts
In 2020, the Association launched the podcast Illuminismo Psichedelico, curated by Federico Di Vita, which explores the topic of psychedelics through cultural, scientific, legal, artistic and literary interventions.
Future Initiatives: PsychedeliCare
The Association is among the promoters of PsychedeliCare, a European Citizens Initiative on psychedelics which asks, among other things, for a budget line dedicated to research for medical purposes.
Technical Document
The Association has prepared the technical document Psychedelic Therapies at the End of Life in Italy, edited by the lawyer Claudia Moretti, which analyzes the relevant laws to start a discussion with Italy’s Health Minister Orazio Schillaci. For this reason, the Association will seek support from doctors, psychologists and practitioners on a document that asks for institutional attention for the already safe and effective psychedelic therapies that are offered in countries such as Canada, USA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Israel, Australia and the Czech Republic. In addition to attracting scientific attention to the issue, the objective is also to involve the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto in the search for new therapies for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorders.
