In practice, the Iranian experts have managed to divide, differentiate and transfer the human stem cells produced, cultured and frozen inside the country into cardiomayocytes.
Such cells play crucial role in different fields including developmental biology, transplantation and pharmacology. The Iranian scientists intend to continue their study and conduct research on various applications of the cells.
So far, only Sweden, Japan, the US, Australia, Britain, India, South Korea, and Singapore have been successful in producing embryonic human stem cells.
Meanwhile, a group of experts and scientists engaged in this achievement met with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday.
Referring to each scientific scholar as a divine gift, Ayatollah Khamenei said that a lot of great achievements have been made in the country following the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
Praising great achievements of the Iranian scientists and scholars, the Supreme Leader stressed that attempts made by enemies to humiliate and weaken the Iranian nation have been foiled thanks to the great and praise-worthy efforts of the Iranian scholars and scientists.
